Build in days, not months – thanks to Polyplastic Group participation

COVID-19 pandemic created the urgently increased need in infectious disease hospitals. Like in China, a number of countries have implemented construction of infectious diseases centres using prefabricated modules.

In Russia, the largest project of rapid construction of the cutting-edge infectious diseases centre was implemented in Moscow. A hospital for 800 beds, half of which were for intensive care, was built in just 5 weeks near the village of Golokhvastovo, Troitskiy Administrative District of the capital.

POLYPLASTIC Group, as Russia’s largest producer of plastic pipes, took a leading role in supplying the project with plastic pipes. In just 10 days, the plants have supplied over 12 km of PE pipes for gas pipelines with diameters of 500 and 225 mm, over 5.5 km of MULTIPIPE PE 100+ innovative multilayer pipes for water networks, CORSYS PRO pipes with  diameters of 315 and 400 mm for sewage and over 20 km of ELECTROPIPE ECO pipes with diameter of 125 mm for cable lines.

Over 10 km of ISOPROFLEX-A flexible heat insulated pipes with diameters from 40 to 160 mm were supplied for the construction of intersite heating supply networks. All pipes were completed with thousands of necessary fittings.

In addition to pipes supply, the company provided employees to carry out installation and technical supervision at the site on a daily basis.

Construction of the hospitals has taken place in other regions. The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation implemented a unique project for construction of 16 multi-functional medical centres in 15 regions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. These centres together can accommodate 1600 beds and take COVID patients if required.

The uniqueness of this impressive project is in the extremely short construction timescale – all 16 centres have been built in just 2 months. Prompt supply in these conditions is paramount. POLYPLASTIC Group, thanks to its presence in practically all regions, a vast network of plants, trading houses and representations with their own warehouses, have ensured the supply of  pipes, fittings and valves to the medical centres in Volgograd, Khabarovsk Region, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ulan-Ude and other cities.

Achieving such speed of construction would be impossible without the application of modern plastic pipes.

Timely delivery of high-quality pipe products to the construction sites is very important in implementation of the COVID combating programme.
