[inspic=94,left,,115]At ifh in Nuremberg, Simplex, the supplier of heating valves and connectors and pipe connection technology exhibited its new stainless steel press-fit fittings range “XPress stainless” using “leak before press” technology. + + + The new press-fit fitting range “XPress stainless” for stainless steel with an LBP (leak before press) sealing ring is manufactured by its group sister company VSH. The fittings are made from the high quality material 1.4401 and are DVGW*-certified. Using the LBP sealing ring any points accidentally left un-pressed are immediately visible by a leak on testing with water and this can be rectified. + + + The specific principle of the sealing ring lies in the fact that leaks are created not by saving on material but by adding it (grooves) at three points. By comparison with other systems on the market, this produces a robust O-ring with no weak points. + + + If the fitting with an LBP sealing ring in EPDM or Viton is not pressed, water can flow through these. During pressing, the O-ring is returned to its original state and the three grooves filled with the excess rubber. More: www.kwd-globalpipe.com.
