RIDGID® Renews Line of Pressing Equipment

[inspic=197,left,,0]LEUVEN – February 2008 – RIDGID® is introducing the new versatile RIDGID RP 330 pressing tool, adding to its existing line of pressing equipment. Offered in a corded (RP 330-C) or battery (RP 330-B) version, the RIDGID RP 330 is the fastest, cycle time of 5 seconds, pressing tool available.

Both the battery and corded RIDGID RP 330 pressing tools make quick connections, with the battery-operated model utilizing an 18-volt lithium-ion battery to allow more presses per battery charge.

The user-friendly RIDGID RP 330 has a 270-degree jaw rotation and a flattened top, permitting better accessibility in confined areas. User-friendly indicator and troubleshooting lights provide end users with easy-to-understand indications of the tool’s performance. The user also receives an audible signal that the pressing cycle is complete.

The RP 330 requires routine service at longer intervals than previous RIDGID models, increasing from 20,000 cycles to 30,000 cycles, making the tool even more dependable while on the jobsite, and maximizing contractor uptime.

A new gear ratio allows both models of the RIDGID RP 330 to perform better in cold temperatures. The new gear ratio also aids the battery-operated model to produce more presses per charge. Strategically placed rubber bumpers protect the tool during rough handling and inadvertent drops.

The RIDGID RP 330 presses 12mm to 54mm or even, depending on the system, up to 108mm fittings and is compatible with all standard RIDGID pressing jaws. A three- or six-jaw kit is offered with both tool versions. The battery model includes one Li-Ion 18V 2.2Ah battery and a charger. An 18V 3.3Ah Li-Ion, better for colder environment work, is also available.

“Based on feedback from professionals across Europe and extensive research, RIDGID developed the RP 330 to address a number of end users’ pressing needs,” said Sven Vanwelssenaers, product manager, RIDGID. “As a result, the RP 330 is a simpler, more intuitive and user-friendly pressing tool.”
