Trans-matic Systems to unveil revolutionary plumbing system at Mostra convegno expocomfort

KWD-globalpipe, 2008-02-19, No. 270. Trans-Matic Systems, a division of Trans-Matic Manufactur-ing Co. Inc., today announced that it will unveil the “Omni-PRESS” plumbing and heating connection system for plastic pipe at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) trade show in Milan, Italy, on March 11 – 14, 2008.
MCE is one of the world’s largest international exhibitions for the HVAC and plumbing industries. Trans-Matic will demonstrate the features and the benefits of the Omni-PRESS system in Hall 9, Showcasing Omni-PRESS at MCE provides an early opportunity to see the new patent pending system before it is officially launched into the market. The engineers at Trans-Matic designed Omni-PRESS to address shortcomings of currently available fitting systems (primarily press fittings). The new system will appeal to contractors, builders and architects looking for a simplified plastic pipe connection system that delivers a high degree of mechanical integrity.

Omni-PRESS benefits include:

  • simpler installations for plumbers
  • faster work flow for contractors
  • higher reliability for building owners
  • pipe layout flexibility for architects.

The Omni-Press system is expected to drive new market growth for distributors with global market reach, said Ron Dalessandro, vice president of advanced product development for Trans-Matic Systems.

“What makes the Omni-PRESS system far more superior than conventional systems is its innovative connector,” Dalessandro said. “Current plumbing systems offer press fittings that require bulky installation tools with multiple press jaws for each size pipe and ultimately those systems occupy far too much valuable square meters of space. Because one Omni-PRESS press jaw tool is used for all pipe sizes, it optimizes installation productivity by lowering the cost and saving time and space while facilitating quicker installation in tighter spaces. The system is designed to make quick, easy and efficient pipe connections with trust and confidence.”
The Omni-PRESS system uses a compression tab on one side of the connector so the Omni-PRESS tool only needs to access one side of the pipe. This allows pipes to fit more closely together and for pipes to be installed easily in tight spaces. The compression band, within the connector, provides a full 360 degree circumference seal for reliable connections. And one press tool is used for all size pipes in the Omni-PRESS system. The system will be available in both PEX and Multi-Layer in sizes up to 40mm.
