Technical manual for PE pipes soon published – en Español
AseTUB, the Spanish Plastic Pipes & Fittings Association, will shortly be releasing its Technical manual for PE Pipes in CD ROM and print form.
Published by AENOR (The Spanish standardisation and certification Association), the publication comprises 15 chapters of information outlining the characteristics of PE, its molecular structure, manufacturing details, performance and benefits of PE pipes, installation and design equations, pressures, diameters, standards, quality certification, etc.
Its author is Luis Balairón, Professor of the University of Salamanca and Director of the Laboratory of Hydraulics of the Experimentation Centre of Spanish Public Works Ministry (CEDEX).
Blanca de Arteche, General Director of AseTUB explains: “We are delighted with this body of reference work. Professor Luis Balairón has written a really worthwhile and handy manual. Although focused on water mains, it embraces a wealth of knowledge about solid and structured wall PE pipes, in all its diverse applications. All the latest and spectacular developments and innovations are included.”
AseTUB PE pipes technical manual is complemented by a useful hydraulic and mechanical design tool for buried pipes made to measure by german engineering company INGSOFT. This tool will be made available through the AseTUB web.
A three year distribution campaign is foreseen on a free basis in order to reach all the main decision makers – official organisations, water companies, construction companies, engineers,… and also professional schools
and technical students. The manual will also be distributed during all events organised by the Association.
Official title of the manual is Manual Técnico de Conducciones de Polietileno (PE).
