Remodeling activity slowed slightly in the second quarter of 2007, according to the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Remodeling Market Index (RMI). The current market conditions component slipped from 46.1 to 44.8 on a seasonally adjusted basis and the future expectations measure declined by more than two points to 44.1. The RMI measures remodeler perceptions of market demand for current and future residential remodeling projects. SOLVIN moves to reap sustainable benefits from dynamic vinyls market
Mittwoch, Oktober 24th, 2007SolVin, the European vinyls joint venture of Solvay and BASF, announces that it is planning to expand the capacity of its plant in Jemeppe (Belgium), as part of a strategy to derive sustainable and profitable growth from dynamic global vinyls markets. Pending relevant regulatory clearance, annual capacity in Jemeppe will be lifted to 475,000 metric tons of fully integrated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by 2009, up from 400.000 metric tons today. That record argues for the high demand and the high quality of the proven PE-Xa pipe. The plastic pipe that is produced in the dimensions from 6 until 110 mm is particularly applied as system pipe for applications with drinking water installations, heating connections as well as for heating and cooling operations in planar tempering systems. TECHNO-PLAST Russia: Interview with multilayer pipe equipment manufacturer Mr. Vitaliy Ubeyvolk
Dienstag, Oktober 2nd, 2007 Our Dow team recently had the opportunity to interview Mr. Vitaliy Ubeyvolk, Founder and General Director of TECHNO-PLAST, a company specialised in the development of pipe equipment located in Voroneg, Russia – a city that is approximately 500 kilometers from Moscow.
Question: Mr. Ubeyvolk, could you please give us an introduction on the background of TECHNO-PLAST?
Mr. Ubeyvolk: TECHNO-PLAST originally began as a company called “SKTB-MAYAK”, which was created in 1994 and specialised in manufacturing materials for composite pipes. In 2000, we decided to broaden our offering and we changed the name of the company to TECHNO-PLAST. Our work expanded to include the development and production of equipment for pipes. From 2000-2004, we focused on the creation of our product line and then in 2004 we received our first order from a Russian company called “Sibirskie Tovary.” (weiterlesen…)
